1080p vs 1440p: What Should You Buy For?

Buy for the monitor on your desk (or the one you're about to get). Wrong resolution is how money disappears.

Your monitor does more of the “right PC” decision than any marketing chart. 1080p is still the common, value-friendly choice and fine for a lot of competitive games. 1440p looks sharper but wants a stronger GPU to feel good.

A 1440p-class card on a 1080p screen can make sense if you will upgrade the monitor soon or you just want headroom. A weak 1080p card on a 1440p panel usually means medium settings and compromise.

When you message us, say the screen size and resolution. We will match stock or a build to the display you actually own, not an imaginary showcase setup.
